Manchester, N.H. (Feb. 22, 2008) – Southern New Hampshire University will hold its first-ever Relay for Life from Feb. 29 to March 1 at the New Hampshire Sports Dome in Milford. Relay For Life® is about celebration, remembrance, and hope. By participating, you honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives lost to the disease, and to raise money to help fight it -- all right here in your community.

There will be numerous activities during this 20-hour event. A signature activity is the opening lap, which will be the ‘Survivor Lap’ held at 7 p.m. The ‘Survivor Lap’ is in recognition of those who have had success surviving cancer. Survivors are encouraged to join us in this celebration of life, by participating in the ‘Survivor Lap.’ Following the survivor lap, we will show gratitude and appreciation for those who provided support, encouragement and love throughout the journey to our survivors and  those who have fought cancer.

Community members are invited to support the Relay for Life by attending the event and rooting participants on from the sidelines, or donating at the door with a check made out to the American Cancer Society.

Please visit or call Heather Lorenz at 668.2211, ext. 9608, for more event information. For directions to the New Hampshire Sports Dome, please visit
