SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Senior Mary Bradford (Big Bear, CA) of the Southern New Hampshire University softball team was named the Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday.  In addition, six other SNHU student-athletes were named to their respective NE-10 honor rolls, Mike Ball (Salem, NH) and Eric Gunst (Exeter, NH) of the men’s lacrosse team, Lucretia Joy (Portland, ME) of the women’s lacrosse team, Catalina Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) of the women’s tennis team and David Spaggiari (Manizales, Colombia) and Luis Ramirez (San Cristobal, Venezuela) of the Penmen men’s tennis squad.

In four appearances last week, Bradford posted a 3-1 record and a 1.50 earned run average while holding opposing batters to a .147 batting average.  She allowed just two hits in complete-game victories over Franklin Pierce and American International and recorded a pair of shutouts, in the win over AIC as well as a win over Bentley.

Ball, who was named NE-10 Player of the Week in each of the last two weeks, scored nine goals during a 1-1 week for the Penmen.  He scored five goals in a win over Franklin Pierce then scored four times in a narrow 9-8 loss to No. 8 Merrimack on Saturday.

Gunst, who was last week’s NE-10 Freshman of the Week, recorded a .600 save percentage and a 9.14 goals-against average in two games.  He played the first three quarters in the win over Franklin Pierce to earn the victory.

Joy totaled four goals and four assists in SNHU’s lone game last week as the Penmen scored a season-high 20 goals in a win over Saint Michael’s.

Echeverry posted a 2-0 record at No. 1 singles and a 1-1 record at No. 1 doubles in a pair of matches last week.  She upped her singles record to 4-1 on the season, as she joined the squad at the semester break.

Spaggiari and Ramirez each won all four matches they competed in last week, with Spaggiari and Ramirez each going 2-0 at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.  Spaggiari was also 2-0 at first doubles, while Ramirez won matches at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
