Bettencourt Named NE-10 Softball All-Conference

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Junior Karissa Bettencourt (Norton, MA) of the Southern New Hampshire University softball team was named Northeast-10 Third Team All-Conference, it was announced by the conference office on Sunday.  For Bettencourt, it marks her second straight All-Conference selection as she was a Second Team choice last season.

In 2008, Bettencourt ranked second on the Penmen with a .323 batting average, belting a pair of home runs and driving in 11 runs while starting all 39 games for Southern New Hampshire.  She tied for the team-lead with 10 multi-hit games and also registered a team-best 10-game hitting streak during the season.  She also recorded her 100th career hit during the season.

For her career, Bettencourt has recorded 106 career hits and her .346 batting average currently stands as the fifth-highest in school history.
