Writing Contests


English Faculty Award for Outstanding Literary Essay

An annual contest offering $100 to a graduating senior from Southern New Hampshire University's Undergraduate Day School who submits the best essay on a literary subject.

The essay must be based on a literary analysis and must have been written for an SNHU literature class (LIT 200, 300, 400 level) at some point during the student's time at the University.

SNHU Writing Contest

Winners receive $100 and publication in Amoskeag: The Journal of Southern New Hampshire University, a literary magazine published each year in April.

Submit:

  • Prose (short stories or creative essays, up to 6 pages)
  • Poetry (2-4 poems)
