Sport Management Program

"The Sport Management Program is a business based curriculum which employers love because our students have all the necessary skills required to succeed in the business of sport" states Dr. Kimberly Bogle.

Program Chair Douglas Blais, Ph.D. adds "there are three major types of sport management programs: business based, science based, and physical education based; the Southern New Hampshire University Sport Management Program is clearly a business based program and is NASPE-NASSM approved. This business focus has allowed us to excel in the placement of students."

The students will take the eight specialized courses in sport management coupled with a strong mix of business and liberal arts courses.

The highlight of the major is an opportunity to gain practical experience and important connections through a cooperative education field experience with a professional club, a fitness club, a golf club, a ski resort, a sports manufacturer or retailer.

Classroom experience is enhanced by speakers from the sports industry and by field trips to meet professional managers and to tour sports facilities. Class trips have been taken to Fenway Park, the International Speedway, the Sports Museum, Portland Sea Dogs, and Whittemore Center.

The sport management program is supported by a very helpful advisory board. The members are listed below:
