Lucretia Joy '07
- Student; On Campus
“Ever since I was in high school, I knew I wanted to go here.”
Southern New Hampshire University has given Lucretia Joy ’07 the opportunity to become a leader on and off the field.
Lucretia inspires her teammates as captain of the women’s lacrosse team and is now working on her M.S. in marketing. She got a head start on her graduate degree by using her electives to take graduate classes while she was still an undergraduate.
“Ever since I was in high school, I knew I wanted to go here. My cousin went here; my sister goes here, so it felt like home,” says Lucretia, who is from Portland, Maine. “I liked the size of the school and in the classroom I can communicate with the teacher one-on-one, unlike bigger schools. I knew I wanted to play D2 lacrosse, and Southern New Hampshire has given me the opportunity to do so.”
Her enthusiasm for the university prompted her to become a tour guide, so she can share it with potential students. She hopes she can help students go to a college right for them.
“Since I have had a great college experience here, I want to help students find a perfect fit for them so they can do the same,” she says.
