Dr. Goldsmith has a Ph.D in Biological Anthropology and has been studying the behavioral ecology of gorillas in both the Congo and Uganda since 1991.  As a National Geographic researcher she has been examining the role of tourism on the behavior and well-being of endangered mountain gorillas.   Her main interests are in animal behavior, conservation and ethics.
