Men's Soccer Hosts Franklin Pierce in Northeast-10 Semifinals Wednesday

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University men’s soccer team, seeded second, will host third-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the semifinals of the 2008 Northeast-10 Men’s Soccer Championship Wednesday (Nov. 5) at Larkin Field at 5:00 pm.  The Penmen are ranked fifth nationally among Division II schools, while the Ravens are the defending Division II national champions.

Admission prices, set by the NE-10, are $6 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.  All SNHU students with a valid student ID will receive free admission courtesy of the SNHU Student Government Association and P.A.S.S.

SNHU enters the game with a 14-2-3 record and advanced to the semifinals with a 1-0 win over Assumption in Sunday’s quarterfinal round.  The Penmen, who earned a share of the NE-10 regular season title along with top seed UMass Lowell, are 10-0 at home this season, including a 2-1 win over FPU during the regular season.  Franklin Pierce advanced with a 2-1 overtime win over Southern Connecticut on Sunday evening.

Wednesday’s winner will face the winner of the other semifinal pitting No. 1 seed UMass Lowell and fourth-seeded Le Moyne in the championship game.  That game will be played Saturday (Nov. 8) at the home pitch of the highest remaining seed.
