New Student Communication & Tasks Timeline
- Complete the SNHU application (priority deadline March 15th)
- Complete the Financial Aid application (priority deadline March 15th)
- Plan a Campus Visit
- SNHU sends your acceptance letter
- Complete a FAFSA Follow up to make sure it has been sent to SNHU
- SNHU sends your Financial Aid Award letter (within 14 days of SNHU acceptance letter)
- SNHU sends your welcome packet including:
Welcome letter, welcome gift, SNHU e-mail address & password, a list of items you should be thinking about and a link to a webpage that connects you to all the information you will need to complete all tasks needed between the point of deposit and the day you come to SNHU in September. - Complete your Medical Record form
- Complete your Housing forms (if applicable)
- Accept your Financial Aid Award (by August 1 to avoid a late fee)
Sign and return your award letter
Choose a Stafford Loan Lender
Complete online Entrance Loan Counseling session - Apply for NCAA eligibility (if applicable)
- SNHU sends your preliminary bill
- SNHU sends your housing assignment, roommate information, renters insurance and parking permit information (July)
- Purchase your Laptop (by July 15)
- Choose to purchase SNHU Health insurance or complete the Insurance waiver form (by August 1)
- Pay any remaining balance on your bill (by August 1st)
- SNHU e-mails Perkins Loan information to your snhu.edu e-mail (After August 1st)
- Sign a Perkins Loan Master Promissory Note (if applicable)
- Register online for classes via PENpal (more information will be provided at summer orientation, Placement assessments for Math and English will be part of this process)
- Complete Alcohol Wise program Part 1
- Read your summer reading/common book
- Purchase books for classes
- Read through the Student Handbook and agree to abide by SNHU guidelines
- Add money to Penmen Cash /Penmen Change accounts (optional)
- Sign up to receive important information through SNHU Alerts (optional)
- Pack and come to SNHU ready to start
- SNHU provides a welcome packet for residential students (including your SNHU ID)
- Commuters can pick up their SNHU ID at the Bursar's Office
- Attend the First Days program to get you off to a great start
- Attend the job fair (for on campus employment)
- Attend Club Day and become active on campus
- Complete Alcohol Wise Part II (by September 30)
