SNHU SIFE Team Captures Regional Awards

Manchester, N.H. (April 20, 2009) Southern New Hampshire University’s SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) team competed at the SIFE USA Regional Competition on March 31 in Providence, R.I. The team, in its first year of competition, earned two trophies. The event was one of 16 SIFE regional competitions.

SIFE teams work to create economic opportunities in their communities by organizing outreach projects that teach market economics, entrepreneurship, personal financial success skills and business ethics, the projects are then judged by business leaders on creativity, innovation and effectiveness.

The SNHU SIFE team organized 13 projects in the Greater Manchester area including assisting entrepreneurs with their business plans in the NH StartUp Challenge and assisting a nonprofit entity in the development of a business plan to increase revenues. Students gain hands-on experience and made a difference in their communities.
