As the product of a merger of two departments (The office and Residence Life and Campus Programming and Leadership) the staff structure associated with the Residential Learning Communities (RLC’s) is a dynamic one. Successful integration calls for Resident Assistants (RA’s) to work with Program Directors (PD’s) in order to produce programming that both offers a spectrum of experiences that support residential education ideals while supplementing the experience with unique and specialized offerings.
The RLC program also offers leadership development, mentorship, work study and internship opportunities that compliment the programmatic needs and daily operations with applicable and educational experiences.
Supporting the program are two committees, the RLC Advisory Committee provided guidance and advice during the program proposal review process. Membership is composed of individuals from various departments within the division of Student Affairs. A council of Program Advisors is composed of the individual, staff and faculty who provided direct advice to the Program Directors on specialized programming.
The RLC Organizational Chart highlights the different elements that compose the RLC structure.
