I can do it anywhere.

There are no typical days for SNHU Online student Tiffany Quint.

That’s because Tiffany is on active duty with the U.S. Army in Iraq.

“It’s a 24-hour job, and we work whenever soldiers go out on convoys,” says Tiffany, a 25-year-old staff sergeant from Dover, N.H.,  who is responsible for maintaining equipment used to counter improvised explosive devices.

A social science major, Tiffany does her school work during the afternoon or in the middle of the night.

“There were definitely days when I didn’t know if I would be able to handle doing both workloads, and I knew which one I would end up giving up,” she says.

At one point, Tiffany’s unit was moved to an area where there was no access to the Internet.

“I let my instructors know what was going on, and they worked with me and understood completely,” she says. “My classmates were also really supportive.”

Looking back, Tiffany says the challenges she faced, and overcame, boosted her self-confidence.

“If I made the time to take classes with the hectic schedule I’ve had, I am sure that I can do it anywhere,” she says.

Now, she’s looking forward to completing her deployment and continuing her education on campus. Thanks to the GI Bill and SNHU military outreach services, Tiffany should have no trouble making the transition.

“When I get home, one of the first things I do will be to go to SNHU to get into college full time,” she says.
