Faculty Scholars
Overview
The purpose of the Faculty Scholars program is to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration across schools for the benefit of SNHU faculty and students. Faculty that apply to be a Faculty Scholar would, for the course of one year would be jointly appointed in two schools, teaching one team-taught course per semester (in load) with another faculty member from another school.
This course can be an existing course or a new special topics course. In addition, this faculty member would attend the other school’s faculty meetings, including department meetings, and would meet with other faculty scholars on a monthly basis to discuss the collaboration. Finally, participants would be asked to discuss the experience in an end of the year Faculty Center sponsored event.
Participants in the Faculty Scholars program will be given priority for Faculty Center Travel Grant in the year they are in the program or the year after they are in the program. We especially would encourage participants to present their experience at a teaching conference.
