English Language & Literature and English Education (B.A.)

The Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature and English Education integrates the major in English Language & Literature with the program in English Education, and meets the requirements for the State of New Hampshire certification to teach English, grades 5-12.

This program is demanding and intense. Motivated students who want to complete a major in English Language & Literature as well as teach in public secondary education systems will fulfill the requirements for both degrees by taking on the challenge of a prescribed 129 credit program.

Students completing the program will have acquired skills in reading and interpreting literature, be able to write for a variety of purposes, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the processes of teaching and learning applicable not only in school but also to other learning and training settings.
