Covers basic concepts of the Datatel system, including menus and toolbars, movement in the system, standard Look-up procedures, address standards, address changes, basic data entry, logging on and off, and how to get access.

Students receive the training manual that will become their resource for using the system.

Covers the basics of Academic Records, including changing majors, changing student types and home locations, viewing transcripts, entering transcript requests, printing enrollment verifications, locating grades, school withdrawals, entering student remarks, inactivating/reactivating students, and locating various types of general student information.

Covers all areas of Cash Receipting, including opening sessions and batches, entering all types of payments, printing receipts, correcting/reversing payments, daily reconciling, and researching payments.

Covers all areas of Accounts Receivable, including creating invoices, handling invoice adjustments and credits, creating and reconciling invoice batches, printing invoices, printing student account information, and obtaining and researching general student account information.

Covers entry of Prospects and Applicants, including entering student inquiries, student applications, external transcripts, and performing "Move to Student" (the process which allows registration).

Covers basic general ledger concepts, including a review of purchasing, requisition inquiry, how to look at your budget, and how to print general ledger reports.

Covers basic entry of grades into the system and how to verify registration status before grade entry.

Access is restricted to only a few users, as faculty enter their own grades in PENpal. Permission must be granted by the Registrar before signing up for classes.

Covers the basics of Miscellaneous Accounts Receivable, including creating invoices, creating invoice adjustments and credits, and creating and reconciling invoice batches.
