I've made a ton of connections for career networking.

As director of Communications at styleboston, Joanna Sullivan ‘08, ’10 is putting what she learned in SNHU’s fashion merchandising and communication programs to work.

Her duties include working with the media and the sales teams, handling promotions, assisting the CEO and acting as the liaison between creative and sales. Much of what she learned in class has come in handy, she says.

“I have to understand all media outlets,” she says. “Knowing fashion, how buying works and understanding textiles is a big plus.”

As a student, Joanna worked for the disability office and took advantage of study abroad opportunities, spending a semester in Rome. With help from the Career Development Office, she landed internships working for Hamptons Magazine, a high-end lifestyle publication covering New York’s tony summer playground, and for Boston Common.

“I will always look back and remember the support I was given by the faculty and staff,” she says. “Studying abroad was one of the most amazing experiences I had while at SNHU and will serve me for the rest of my life.”

Despite all the practical knowledge she has gained at SNHU, Joanna above all values the people she has encountered during her time on campus.

“I’ve made unbelievable friends whom I don’t think I’d have met somewhere else,” she said. “And I’ve made a ton of connections for career networking. It’s a very close-knit community, and that’s special.”
