Social Media Seminar Kicks Off New MBA Program

Manchester, N.H. (Feb. 15, 2010) – Southern New Hampshire University is hosting a seminar, Social Media and Internet Marketing on Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Dining Center’s Banquet Hall. The event is free and open to the public. The seminar is a kickoff to introduce SNHU’s new MBA in Social Media Marketing program.

Panelists and topics will include:

  • Bob Cote: Brattle Consulting Group, Boston – mobile marketing and application technology;
  • Neil Korgaokar: Tank Design, Boston – marketing and social media;
  • Darryl Jelley: Brand Content, Boston  – social media applications;
  • Mark Haddad: Zingr Communications, Manchester – mobile marketing and social media

“Companies in the marketplace are looking for assistance in designing/implementing and evaluating social media tools in their overall strategic options,” said SNHU Marketing Professor Pat Spirou. “The MBA in Social Media Marketing will provide an understanding of the use of social media in order to achieve competitive advantage.”

Manchester-based Zingr Communications played an integral role developing program content and advising SNHU in this emerging marketplace.

“Businesses are challenged to understand the fast-paced world of social media and how it will improve their brand and profitability,” said Zingr Communications President and Founder Mark Haddad.

The MBA in Social Media Marketing provides an understanding of the strategic use of social media tools by companies to achieve competitive advantage. The overall objective of this program is to emphasize the role that social media plays in management decisions.

The social media cross-disciplinary program at SNHU provides students with a broad approach to the history, theory, technology, impact, and strategic uses of social media utilizing the most relevant and current attributes in technology, marketing, advertising, communication, public relations, and journalism.
