Program Focus

As a student in the Creative Writing - Poetry online program at SNHU, creative writing courses begin your freshman year, unlike many other writing programs. The program is designed with three creative writing online workshops that specialize in writing poetry.

You will also have the opportunity to join the university’s Creative Writing Club and the New Hampshire Writers’ Project, the only statewide literary organization for writers of all levels and genres, which is housed on the university’s main Manchester campus.

Creative Writing Employment Opportunities

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook 2012-2013 "Employment of authors, writers, and editors is expected to grow 6 percent, about as fast as the average for all occupations, from 2010 to 2020. Employment in salaried writing and editing positions is expected to increase slightly as jobs become more prevalent throughout the economy."
