At SNHU, you won't just listen to us talk our mission and conceptual frameworks, you'll experience them through your education coursework and field experiences. Our programs are a unique blend of theoretical insights, research-driven foundations and practical experience.We prepare you to work with a variety of students and other professionals, from infants to school-aged children to adults.
Our undergraduates earn bachelor's degrees in child development, early childhood, elementary, secondary English, or social studies education. If you're pursuing teacher certification, you'll be in the field your first course with us.
Our graduate students earn certificates and master's degrees on campus, online or in our innovative field-based programs. Graduate students can study child development, elementary education, secondary education, ESOL, curriculum and instruction, and special education.
Certification students have the opportunity to acquire a double certification in general special education. Specialized coursework, field experiences, and student teaching help prepare you to work with students with special needs.
Students develop partnerships with local schools and agencies while acquiring a solid background in their disciplines. For example, our students complete a minimum of 100 hours of field experience before they student teach. Students not seeking teacher certification participate in meaningful internship and practicum experiences in an effort to gain new skills, grow as a leader and professional, and provide service to the community.
