Why Study Hospitality at SNHU?

The faculty. Our faculty members’ zeal for the industry and for teaching is apparent in and out of the classroom. They are tops in their fields, with numerous awards to show for it. (So far, Dean William Petersen is the only faculty member to win a Granite Pineapple from the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce for his service to the community.)

For example, Culinary Arts Chair Perrin Long is a member of the highly prestigious ACF American Academy of Chefs; his students find his love for competition infectious. And Dr. Ravi Pandit, who enjoys a good question better than a simple answer, has been honored for reviewing and conducting industry research.

Loving to teach is a given; our faculty also love to learn. They push themselves to the next level, just as they will push you to succeed.

The curriculum. As diverse as our academic programs are, they are similar in several critical aspects: They all blend high academic standards and invaluable hands-on experience (whether at the stove, behind the front desk or in the corporate suite) and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with hospitality, tourism and culinary management professionals.

We offer associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in a number of industry specializations. Minors also are available.

You could pursue a degree in convention and event management, giving you the chance to study this fast-growing sector of the hospitality industry—and a chance to build on that knowledge through the required work experience. Or maybe you would like to become a resort manager? Our destination management program will take you inside the world of hotel, resort and other destination management.

If you already have a two- or three-year hospitality degree and you’re looking for a way to combine academic study and hands-on industry experience, check out our Bachelor of Applied Science in Hospitality Administration program.

Industry professionals seeking to advance to the next level without having to quit their jobs to go back to school should look into our M.S. in hospitality administration.
