E-mail Instructions
- Full first name, followed by a dot, followed by your full last name and @snhu.edu (all lowercase)
- For example, if your name is John Bailey, your e-mail address would be
- If you have a common first and last name where duplicate e-mail addresses may occur, visit the Computing Resources Department (Exeter Hall) to receive your e-mail address. You will need to show your student ID to receive your e-mail address.
- Your e-mail address is also your User name. A User name is required to sign into the e-mail system.
- Your initial e-mail password is your birthday in the following format: MMDDYYYY. For example, if your birthday is Aug. 25, 1972, your e-mail password is 08251972.
- SNHU Strongly Recommends you change your password immediately to protect your own privacy and use of your account (see instructions below).
- If SNHU does not have your birthday on file, you will need to visit the Computing Resources Department (Exeter Hall) to receive your e-mail password. You will need to show your student ID to receive your e-mail password.
- The SNHU e-mail system is accessed via the Web at http://webmail.snhu.edu/. You can also access it through Blackboard or through the Current Student Links page on the website.
- If you are a returning student, your e-mail messages from the prior system have been moved to the new system.
- Open Internet Explorer and access your e-mail using the following address: http://webmail.snhu.edu/.
- Login using your User name and password.
- Once logged into your e-mail, look for the Options button in the lower left hand corner of the window.
- Click the Options button and the Options frame will open in the right hand side of your browser window.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Options frame and you will see a section labeled Password with a Change Password button.
- Click on the Change Password button.
- A new window will open. Fill in all the fields and click OK.
- The field information is:
- First field is for the SNHU Domain - type SNHU in the field.
- Second field is for your username. This is required for security purposes. Type the part of your e-mail address that is in front of the "@snhu.edu" in this field. For example, if your e-mail address is john.doe@snhu.edu, you would enter john.doe in this field.
- Third field is for your old password (your date of birth). Type your date of birth in MMDDYYYY format into this field.
- Fourth field is for your new password. Enter a new password that is at least seven digits long.
- Fifth field is to confirm your new password. Retype your new password in this field.
- You are done.
- Some notes about passwords on the new system:
- You will be required to change your password every 180 days.
- You cannot change your password more than one time per day.
- To maintain security you cannot alternate between two passwords when you change. You must enter a new and unique password each time you change.
