Involvement at SNHU: Women's Division II Basketball Team

Reason for choosing SNHU: I wanted to find a University that would challenge my thirst for knowledge as well as giving me the opportunity to continue my growth as an individual and play in the realm of competitive sports. My intentions were to find a school that fit most of my needs which consisted of high level academics, competitive athletics, an environment of dedicated professors, students and staff as well as being in New England.

Favorite thing about SNHU: I am inspired by the community atmosphere, the people and relationships formed in every aspect of my involvement at the university. From the moment you step foot on the SNHU campus you have the sense that everyone on the campus is working towards the same goal. The friendliness and the sincerity are evident in every area of the university.

Favorite thing about 3Year: The small classes, which force everyone to pay attention and work because you cannot hide in a class of 13 or less. All of the classmates are motivated to do well and are willing to pull more than their own weight, if necessary, in order to complete a project. The willingness of the professors to let you explore every aspect of the course and their enthusiasm for the program filters throughout the students as well. There is a sense of pride being a part of this program and it is a perfect fit for myself.

Current Occupation: My goal is to coach basketball in college, professionally or to form my own AAU program. The business skills, management involvement and educational background in the psychology of succeeding in the business world will provide me with the foundation to succeed in the competitive world of sports. The professors in this program have the same zest and curiosity about what aspirations the students have for their future and it is gives each of us a stronger conviction to fulfill our dreams and goals.

How has the three year program helped you? This program has helped me to continue the disciplines that I had gained during my years of education at Phillips Exeter Academy. It has encouraged my speaking skills to flourish and to become one of my strengths rather than one of my weaknesses.

The 3Year Honors Program has become a continuation of my challenging, demanding, and most importantly, rewarding education at Exeter. It has given me the opportunity to reach new academic heights that would not have been possible without this unique experience and program. I came in with a goal of developing skills to go out into the world of sports and use those skills to find a career. I know after just completing my first year that I have total confidence that I will reach every single goal because of the guidance, sincerity and academic background that I am receiving at SNHU.
