Human Resources Certification Prep Course

Southern New Hampshire University, in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), will offer the SHRM Learning System Course designed to assist human resource professionals in preparing for the PHR and SPHR certification exams.

What You Will Learn
This course is designed to provide HR professionals an overview of the practical knowledge and tools necessary to develop their skills. It is specifically designed to prepare participants to take the SHRM PHR and SPHR exams. While passing the test is not guaranteed, attendance at courses using the SHRM Learning System® has statistically resulted in higher passing rates.

Southern New Hampshire University integrates proven educational and training techniques to assist participants in preparing for the national exam and enhance their professional development. Over the past 4 years, SNHU has realized an average passing rate of 95% for PHR compared to the national passing rate averaging 67% and an average passing rate of 80% for SPHR compared to the national passing rate averaging 57%. 

Participants have indicated that taking the course at SNHU gave them the additional confidence and preparation necessary for the national exam. All participants agree the SHRM Learning System® materials plus the additional information provided by SNHU are invaluable resources for the exam and everyday Human Resource practices. Please note:  as our focus is to help participants be successful on the national exam, the class is focused on delivery of material in a training format which does not allow for extensive class discussion or exploration of ancillary issues.

Cost
Payment for the course is $1125, which includes all books and materials as well as the CD ROM which is considered essential for computer based testing preparation. SHRM members receive a $65 discount (total cost $1060).  Payment is required at least two weeks prior to the start of the course in order to guarantee seating. Note class size is limited.

Course Certificate and Credit
Successful completion of this course results in a certificate of completion and 3.5 continuing
education credits (CEUs).

College Credit
For SNHU undergraduate or graduate college credit, students must successfully complete
the course and any related requirements.

National Exam Eligibility
It is strongly recommended that anyone interested in sitting for the PHR/SPHR exam should verify eligibility by accessing http://www.hrci.org/

Fall exams will be offered December 1, 2008 through January 31, 2009 and spring exams will be offered May 1 through June 30, 2009 at authorized computer based testing centers.  Information regarding dates, costs and locations is available online at http://www.hrci.org/.

Cancellation Policy
A 50% cancellation fee is accessed participants who cancel within two weeks prior to the start of the course.  Participants who withdraw after the first class meeting are not entitled to a refund.
