ACC 340 - Controllership
This course examines the accounting and ýinterpersonal skills necessary to manage anýefficient accounting department. These skillsýinclude processing accounting transactions, ýpreparing financial statements, recommendingýimprovement in financial operating policies, andýmonitoring the financial activities in other ýdepartments. Basic areas of subject coverageýinclude cash management, inventory valuation, ýoperating budgeting, taxes, insurance, and capitalýbudgeting. Also included will be the use of ýelectronic spreadsheets for financial analysis,ýclient-server computing applications, ýtarget costing, disaster recovery planning, ýactivity based costing, outsourcing, and ýmanaging in a growth environment.
