This is a special topics course that accountingýmajors can take in lieu of FIN 330. It is open toýother students interested in financial statementýanalysis and business valuation who have completedýFIN 320 and ACC 303 or who receive permission fromýinstructor. Our global economy is marked by a highýlevel of M&A activity. Accountants and otherýbusiness professionals are often called upon toýevaluate the financial health and market value ofýtheir company and of other companies underýconsideration for acquisition. This courseýpresents theory, tools and techniques that areýlater applied to the actual analysis and valuationýof a publicly traded company. It will extend priorýanalysis to include the computation of free cashýflows, the interpretation of notes to financialýstatements and the integration of informationýprovided in various SEC filings to evaluate aýcorporation's future prospects. This final groupýproject should result in an excellent addition toýa student's business portfolio.
