The SNHU School of CED in partnership with the GHAMFIN - the Ghana Microfinance Institutions Network is pleased to present this two week Institute offering a comprehensive, practitioner focused training program with courses in seven knowledge tracks over two weeks

Who Should Attend MDI
The Microenterprise and Development Institute is designed for Microenterprise Managers, Executive Directors, Program Directors, NGO managers and CEOs, Financial Managers, Operations Managers, Board Members from Micro Finance NGOs, Credit Unions, Banks, and other Micro Finance institutions, staff from State and National governments, Donors of Micro Finance institutions, Regulators, Policy decision makers, Consultants and newcomers to the field. Students at previous Institutes have come from five continents, providing a unique opportunity for learning and networking with a diverse group of fellow practitioners. 

MDI in Ghana
The MDI Ghana courses will be facilitated by the top Microfinance and Development practitioners in the field. This multidisciplinary curriculum addresses poverty through a holistic approach allowing participants to choose a different knowledge track each week of the institute and offers;

  • Earned certificate and academic credit options
  • Field trips to microfinance and market development programs
  • Evening guest speakers on Savings Led Microfinance, Rural Banking and Community Economic Development
  • Panel discussions on Savings Led Microfinance and Government Role in Microfinance

Introduction to Community Economic Development Opening Session and Daily Plenary
In a half day Opening Session and during morning Plenary Session duing Week One we will explore how Microfinance, Pro-Poor Enterprise development and other financial schemes fit into the larger picture of community-based economic development and social change. 

Sustainable Development in Action at a Time of Global Climate Change Seminr
On the afternoon of the first day of the Institute we will offer a Seminar for Community Development Practitioners on Climate Change and local solutions and strategies.
