“Southern New Hampshire University fits my busy life and makes me know I can succeed with my dream of being a teacher.”
Darcy Ferry, a Continuing Education student at Southern New Hampshire University’s Manchester Center, nearly postponed again her goal to become a teacher.
Raising two young children, working full time, buying a house and having her husband deployed to Massachusetts, Darcy decided it wasn’t the right time for her to be in school. She was about to drop out, then children’s literature instructor Donna Ciocca helped change her mind.
“She is a warm and caring person who shows a lot of enthusiasm and gave me ideas that motivated me,” Darcy says. “She turned me around and made me remember why I wanted to start teaching.”
Darcy found she could do all she needed to and attend classes.
“A full-time day school was just not in the cards for me,” she says. “SNHU offers night and weekend classes that I can fit into my schedule.”
