Dec 29, 2005 PENpal Changes In an effort to simplify access to on-campus systems, PENpal will now use the same User Name and Password as your SNHU e-mail account. This means one less password to remember! Starting Thursday, Dec 29, at 8:00am, your old PENpal password will no longer work. Instead you will have to use your e-mail user name and password to log in to PENpal.
Dec 28, 2005 New Wireless Laptop Procedure To protect the campus network from viruses, worms and other threats that could be introduced via a wireless connection, new technology was implemented that will require all laptops to be in compliance with standard security practices. This technology will scan each Windows-based laptop to verify that it has anti-virus protection and has current Microsoft Windows updates. If the laptop fails either of these scans, a web page will appear with easy-to-follow directions to update the laptop. Once laptop is compliant, SNHU's wireless login page will be displayed.
Dec 23 - Dec 28, 2005 SNHU E-mail System Interruption The SNHU e-mail system is in need of maintenance that requires the system be shut down for a lengthy period of time. The least disruptive time to do this maintenance is during the holiday week. The SNHU e-mail system will be unavailable from 12 noon on December 23 until approximately Wednesday, December 28, 2005. Any e-mail sent to SNHU will be held by our Internet provider and released once our e-mail system is back online.
Sept 21, 2005 Internet Interruption SNHU experienced an interruption to Internet service from 6:10pm - 9:10pm. The cause was never determined.
Sept 17, 2005 Planned Internet Interruption SNHU's Internet service provider (ISP) has announced an interruption to Internet service this Saturday, Sept. 17, from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. The purpose of this interruption is to upgrade equipment. During this timeframe, any e-mail messages inbound to SNHU will be held by the ISP and sent once service is restored. Outbound e-mail service will not be available during the outage while internal e-mail service will be unaffected for those on campus. Blackboard will not be accessible from on campus during the outage.
Aug 19 - 22, 2005 Planned E-mail Outage E-mail System Upgrade - The SNHU e-mail system will be shut down at 5:00pm on Friday, August 19 and will be back online Monday, August 22 at 8:00am. The SNHU e-mail system requires an immediate increase in disk space in order to prevent impending system problems. This is the result of a recent and unexpected spike in disk space usage. This upgrade requires the SNHU e-mail system to be shut down the entire weekend of Aug 19 - 21. During that time the following services are impacted: - no access to the SNHU e-mail system - no Blackberry service - no access to Library electronic resources from off campus - no e-mail acknowledgement of PenPal registrations and no resetting of PenPal passwords. This does not affect Blackboard although, again, there will be no SNHU e-mail service that many Blackboard users rely upon. Additionally, any e-mail inbound to SNHU during this time will be held by our ISP and attempts to resend will automatically occur.
