Wills Earns NE-10 All-Academic Honors
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Southern New Hampshire University men's cross country team member Fred Wills (Stratford, CT) has been honored for his hard work on the cross country course and in the classroom by being named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic team.
In order to be eligible for selection, a player must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing, be a starter or important reserve and have maintained at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average.
Wills was SNHU's top runner in three of the team's seven races this fall. He opened the year by placing third out of 39 runners at the Castleton State College Invitational with a personal-best time of 28:34, which ranks as the 10th fastest time in program history. He also placed first among SNHU runners and 13th out of 204 at the Gordon College Pop Crowell Invitational with a time of 28:40, which ranks as the 12th fastest time in program history. A graduate of Stratford High School, he also owns the 14th fastest time in program history (28:44), which he recorded at the New England Championships in Boston's Franklin Park. A graduate student, Wills earned his bachelor's degree in sport management. He was named to SNHU's President's List in six of his eight semesters as an undergrad and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a cumulative grade point average of 3.51.
