Lantz Leads After Day One of SNHU Penmen Invitational

BEDFORD, N.H. - Freshman D.J. Lantz (New London, NH) of the Southern New Hampshire University golf team fired a three-over par 74 to tie for first place after day one of the SNHU Penmen Invitational held at the Manchester Country Club Sunday.  Lantz enters Monday's second round tied with Bryant University's Scott Congdon for the lead.  As a team, the Penmen shot 323, 12 strokes behind round one leader UMass Lowell.

UMass Lowell (311) was followed by Bryant (313), Bentley College (314), Saint Anselm College (318), SNHU, Le Moyne College (328), Assumption College (330) and Saint Michael's College (334).

For SNHU, Lantz, who recorded a collegiate-best round, was followed by junior Andrew Maziarz (Cumberland, RI), who is tied for eighth with a five-over 78.  Michael Gravalese (Atkinson, NH) fired an 85 to tie for 30th followed by Shane Winslow (Portsmouth, NH) (86) and Michael Lucchese (Woburn, MA) (91).

Second round play commences Monday morning at 8:30 am.
