Student Accounts

Discrepancies in your student account statement should be discussed immediately with the department that posted the charge or credit. The following is a partial listing of offices who may make charges to your account.

Library Fines

It is important to pay overdue fines at the library when they are incurred. Questions about overdue library materials should be directed to the circulation desk at the library.

Health/Accident Insurance

Hospital insurance is required for all domestic and international SNHU day students; however, if you already have equivalent coverage, you may be able to waive this charge. If you have questions concerning the insurance charge or you need forms to waive coverage, contact the S.A.S. office. Completed forms must be received by the start of the term. Be aware that writing a comment on your statement or sending a letter to the S.A.S. office will not take the place of a waiver request form. If you have charges or other services that you may question contact the Health Center.

International Student Questions

The CIE office assists with immigration regulations and federal laws such as extensions of stay, travel documents, change of visa status, authorized employment, practical training, social security regulations and income tax. Language translation assistance is also available.

Residence Life / Housing

SNHU housing charges will appear on your statement if you have reserved a room in housing. First year students will have their housing costs reflected on their statements as soon as a selection has been made. If you have questions about housing costs or damage charges, contact the Housing office listed above.

Student Loans/Scholarships/Grants

Both graduate and undergraduate students are serviced by the Financial Aid office. The office assists students with educational loans, SNHU or outside scholarships, short term loans and part-time Work Study jobs.
Due to federal laws and SNHU policy, certain steps are required prior to the posting of financial aid payments to the student account. Most outside scholarships will be credited only upon the receipt of the check. Aid is allocated by term to your account.

Tuition/Fees

Tuition charges are placed on your account by the SNHU Location you are attending; Manchester Day, Manchester Graduate, Continuing Education: Manchester, Laconia, Nashua, Portsmouth, Salem, Brunswick, etc. Should you have a question you should contact the Location you are attending. Your first bill of the term reflects a standard tuition charge, along with an Orientation Fee, Lab Fee and Comprehensive (COMP) Fee where applicable.

Validine Meal Plans

Students who live in a residence hall must purchase a meal plan (Validine) with SNHU usually through the Residence Life office at the time of room selection. Of the amount paid for the meal plan, 40 percent will go toward purchasing food dollars. The difference between the amount paid and the amount received in food dollars is used to cover the fixed costs of operating the dining service facility. Students may add funds to their Validine cards at any time in $50 increments.
