How is the Internet Changing the N.H. Primary?
SNHU, Marlin Fitzwater Center Sponsor N.E. News Forum Event
Manchester, N.H. (November 26, 2007) – The Internet is an emerging mass medium -- a press without a press. How are candidate Web sites, blogs, mashups, meetups, social networks, citizen reporters and online fundraising affecting political dialog in the New Hampshire primary?
To find out, the New England News Forum, Southern New Hampshire University, the Marlin Fitzwater Center at Franklin Pierce University and other sponsors are convening a Dec. 6 public forum entitled: "The Unpress: New Gatekeepers of the New Hampshire Primary."
The forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at SNHU’s Walker Auditorium, in Robert Frost Hall. Seating is limited, so while the event is open to the public, online reservations are requested. In addition, participants may sign up online, for $10, for a pre-event hors d'oeuvres-and-networking session from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., also at Robert Frost Hall.
Featured discussion leaders -- among bloggers, journalists, citizens and campaign officials – will be James Pindell, New Hampshire political correspondent and blogger for The Boston Globe/Boston.com, Arnie Arnesen, founder of PoliticalChowder.org, and Dr. Kristen Nevious, Ph.D., director of the Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication at Franklin Pierce University.
Co-sponsors include The New Hampshire Community Foundation, Concord Monitor Online, Stonyfield Farms Inc., and the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications.
