This course is designed to provide students withýa cultural understanding and working knowledge ofýworld geography as it relates to tourism.ýStudents will analyze U.S. and world travelýcenters and various attractions, customs andýtraditions. Students will study locationýgeography and destination appeal, includingýaccessibility, infrastructure, political andýeconomic situations; cultural geography, includingýethnic makeup, politics, history, language,ýreligion, art and social customs; and physicalýgeography, including topography and climate andýtheir influences on travel decisions. Studentsýwill learn about culture by experiencing it andýtalking and visiting with those who live by itsýrules. Field trips are required, as students willýexplore cultures via food and destination visits.ýSome eveing attendance is required. Offeredýevery year. Global marker.
