As an overview of film history and aesthetics,ýthis course explores film history from 1895 to theýpresent. Emphasis is on the development of filmýas a technology, an art form, an industry, and aýcultural institution. The class will research andýdiscuss genres, movements, directors, andýlandmarks in film history.
