MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University men’s soccer coach Marc Hubbard recently announced the addition of Rob Dow and Dave Williams as assistant coaches for the men’s soccer program.  Both will begin their new duties immediately.

Dow has spent the last two seasons as head men’s soccer coach at Dean College in Franklin, MA.  While there, Dow compiled a 18-11-4 record, qualified for the NJCAA Region 21 playoffs in 2007 and coached seven NJCAA All-Region players.  Prior to that, Dow spent two seasons as the men’s and women’s assistant coach at Mayville (ND) State University and a season as an assistant for the men’s team at his alma mater, the University of Maine.

A 2003 graduate of Maine with a degree in Management, Dow was four-year member of the Maine soccer team and led the Black Bears in scoring twice as well as being named an America East Scholar Athlete for three seasons.  Dow later earned his master’s in Sport and Recreation Management from North Dakota State University in 2005. He would go on to play professionally with the Ottawa Wizards and then the New Hampshire Phantoms.  Dow has also coached on the club level with Odyssey Sport ’97 in Portland, ME and is currently coaches the Seacoast United U-13 Premier side.

“I am happy to be surrounded by a quality coaching staff and to have the opportunity to add to the Penmen program,” said Dow.  “I am excited to work with a group of talented and experienced players.”

Williams, who will work primarily with the Penmen goalies, has served as an assistant coach at the University of New Hampshire for the past three seasons where he has worked with the Wildcat keepers.  A former Division I keeper at Cornell University from 1988 to 1991, Williams earned three shutouts as a senior.  Williams graduated from Cornell in 1992 with a degree in human development.  After graduation, he played professionally for the San Diego Top Guns of the USISL and the Colorado Foxes of the A-League.

“I'm excited about joining SNHU and working with Marc and Rob to help build a strong team of good young men who will work for each other both on and off the field so that they can reach their potential as soccer players and as men,” said Williams.

He currently serves as the Vice-President of Operations for Calley & Currier.  His brother Doug was a member of the United States Cycling Team in 1982 and 1983.  Originally from Denver, Colo., Williams now lives in Rye, NH.

“I believe Marc's soccer acumen along with his integrity and compassion will help SNHU re-affirm its strong tradition in college soccer,” Williams stated.
