Nigrelli, Spaggiari Garner NE-10 Tennis Accolades

SOUTH EASTON, Mass.Lauren Nigrelli (Westerly, RI) of the Southern New Hampshire University women’s tennis team and David Spaggiari (Manizales, Colombia) of the Penmen men’s tennis team were each named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.  In addition, Amanda Nason (Center Sandwich, NH) and Melissa Ramos (Stoughton, MA) of the women’s tennis team and Sam Gould (Londonderry, NH) of the men’s tennis team were each named to their respective weekly honor rolls.

Nigrelli posted a pair of victories in SNHU’s only match last week, a 6-3 win over Pace.  Nigrelli recorded a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles and teamed with Catalina Echeverry (Cali, Colombia) for a 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.

Spaggiari recorded two victories as the Penmen were edged by Pace 5-4.  He recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles for Southern New Hampshire and teamed with Luis Ramirez (San Cristobal, Venezuela) for a 8-4 win at first doubles.

Ramos and Nason each won their matches at No. 5 and No. 6 doubles, respectively, and posted a 8-1 win together at No. 3 doubles.  The win improves their doubles record to 4-0 on the season and 15-3 over the past two seasons.

Gould picked up a pair of victories against the Setters, registering a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 4 singles and a 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles with Michael Riccardi (Londonderry, NH).
