Policy Analysis and CED addresses linkages amongýpublic, social and economic policies constitutingýthe policy environment of CED. The course coversýtheory, practice, and policy design, with anýemphasis on the practice of policy analysis. Aýreview of theoretical approaches to policyýanalysis includes case studies of environmental,ýhealth, educational, urban and poverty policies.ýThe government146s role in the main domains ofýsocial programs, social regulation in consumerýprotection and protection of civil rights areýanalyzed, along with the influence of grassrootsýpolitics, social movements and organizations onýthe policymaking process and policy outcomes.
