This is a foundations course in nonprofit planningýfor experienced nonprofit managers. This courseýprovides the underpinnings of nonprofit strategicýplanning and strategic management. It addressesýthe theory and practice of strategic planning,ýplanned change, and strategic management in theýorganizational development of nonprofitýdevelopment organizations, with a particular focusýon community-based development organizationsý(CBOs) in the United States and nongovernmentalýorganizations (NGOs) in the international arena.ýThe connections between political and managerialýapproaches to organizational development andýplanned change will be considered. Participantsýare expected to engage in a strategic planning orýplanned change program in their work organizationsýor to support such work in other developmentýorganizations.
