Golf Opens Spring at Goldey-Beacom Invitational

AVONDALE, Pa. – Freshman D.J. Lantz (New London, NH) of the Southern New Hampshire University golf team finished tied for 14th out of 81 golfers as the Penmen opened their spring season at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational at Hartefeld National Golf Club Monday and Tuesday.  As a team SNHU finished 13th out of 16 teams.

Lantz posted a two-day score of 152, bettering an opening-round 78 by four strokes with a 74 on day two.  Andrew Maziarz (Cumberland, RI) and Shane Winslow (Portsmouth, NH) finished tied with a two-day total of 170, while Eric Russo (Glen, NH) posted a two-day score of 172.

SNHU returns to action Saturday and Sunday when it travels to the Dowling Invitational at Long Island National Golf Club.
