Maziarz Places Sixth at Peter King Invitational

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. – Junior Andrew Maziarz (Cumberland, RI) of the Southern New Hampshire University golf team posted a two-day score of 151 to place sixth at the Peter King Invitational at Long Island National Golf Club held Sunday and Monday.  Maziarz posted a 76 on Sunday and followed up with a 75 on Monday to finish five strokes behind medalist Ryan Phillip of Post University.  As a team the Penmen finished 13th of 16 schools.

Freshman D.J. Lantz (New London, NH) was the next-highest finisher for Southern New Hampshire as he totaled 159 over the two day event.  Shane Winslow (Portsmouth, NH) shot an opening-round 79 and finished with a two-day score of 168, while Eric Russo (Glen, NH) improved his score by six strokes on day two and finished with a 172.  Brian Boshar (Windham, NH) finished the tourney with a 187.

The SNHU golf team returns to action next weekend when it competes in the Le Moyne Spring Invitational.
