Men's Tennis Opens NE-10 Tournament Play Tuesday

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University men’s tennis team has earned the No. 7 seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference men’s tennis tournament and will kick off tournament play by traveling to second-seeded Stonehill College for a quarterfinal match on Tuesday at 2:00 pm.

The Penmen, who have qualified for the NE-10 Tournament for the fifth straight season, enter the tourney with a 4-7 overall record and a 4-6 mark in the Northeast-10.  Southern New Hampshire is led by sophomore David Spaggiari (Manizales, Colombia) and junior Luis Ramirez (San Cristobal, Venezuela).  The pair posted 6-4 records at first and second singles in conference play, respectively, and also teamed up for a 5-4 mark in doubles play during the conference season.

SNHU also has three Granite State products in the lineup, juniors Michael Ricciardi and Sam Gould of Londonderry and Londonderry HS and senior Shane Cochran of Manchester and Manchester West HS.

Stonehill enters Tuesday’s match 16-5 overall and 9-1 in NE-10 play, its lone league loss coming to top-seeded Bryant.  The Skyhawks dealt Southern New Hampshire a 9-0 defeat on March 25 in Easton.
