SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Six Southern New Hampshire University student-athletes were recently named to their respective Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Teams.  Juniors Julie Kraus (Derry, NH) and Libby Parent (Hinesburg, VT) of the women’s lacrosse team were both First Team selections, along with seniors John Delanoy (Lansdale, PA) and Chris Dindler (Stephney, Australia) of the men’s lacrosse team.  Women’s tennis seniors Amanda Nason (Center Sandwich, NH) and Lauren Nigrelli (Westerly, RI) were both Second Team selections in that sport.

Kraus, a Business Administration major who has maintained a 3.99 grade point average, was named NE-10 All-Academic for the second straight year.  In 2008, she was named the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-Conference selection after leading Southern New Hampshire in ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers while also ranking among the league leaders in those categories.    A two-time NE-10 All-Conference selection, Kraus was also recently named SNHU’s Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second straight year.

Parent, a Marketing major carrying a 3.94 GPA, was also named NE-10 All-Academic for the second straight season.  On the field, she was an NE-10 First Team selection for the second straight season after registering a school-record 76 points this season on the strength of 48 goals and 28 assists.  Recently named SNHU’s Female Athlete of the Year, Parent is currently the all-time program leader with 125 goals and 60 assists for 185 points.

Dindler, named to the All-Academic Team for the third time in his career, is an Economics/Finance major sporting a 3.54 GPA.  He recently wrapped up his four-year career with Southern New Hampshire, serving as a tri-captain this season along with Delanoy.  In 12 games this season Dindler recorded 10 goals and six assists for 16 points, while over his career he recorded 40 goals and 20 assists for 60 points.

Nason and Nigrelli were both Second Team All-Academic selections for the second straight season.  Nason is a two-time NE-10 All-Conference selection at No. 3 doubles playing alongside Melissa Ramos (Stoughton, MA).  This season, Nason and Ramos were named First Team All-Conference after posting a perfect 13-0 record as SNHU made its first-ever NE-10 semifinal appearance.  Nigrelli earned Third Team All-Conference honors at No. 1 doubles, posting a 6-2 record with Catalina Echeverry (Cali, Colombia).  Nason is a Business Administration major with a 3.43 GPA, while Nigrelli has recorded a 3.48 GPA in Management.
