Bill Shore to Serve as SNHU’s 2008 Commencement Speaker

Manchester, N.H. (April 28, 2008) – Southern New Hampshire University will celebrate commencement on Saturday, May 17, at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The ceremony for undergraduate and graduate students will begin at 11 a.m.; doors will open at 10 a.m. Bill Shore, founder and executive director of Share Our Strength, will serve as the commencement speaker and will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.

COMMENCEMENT NOTES:
Time/Location: Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena, 555 Elm St., Manchester, N.H.

Honorary Degree Recipients: Mtangulizi Sanyika, a development and social change scholar-activist, will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters; John Miles, former SNHU chief financial officer, will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws; and Bilger Duruman, a real estate developer who now works in health care in his native Turkey, will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws.

1,458 (Total undergraduate students who earned degrees in 2007-2008)
997 (Number of undergraduate students expected to attend the May 17 ceremony)

Number of Graduate Students:
1,015 (Total graduate students who earned degrees in 2007-2008.
