Government Documents
Shapiro Library is a selective depository for U.S. government publications, receiving about 20% of all paper, microfiche, CD-ROM, and electronic publications available through the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). Documents are chosen to support the curriculum and are indexed in our Online Catalog. Links to electronic documents will be found in the catalog as well. You may also search for government information on FirstGov.gov, the U.S. Government’s official web portal and on GPO Access, the U.S. Government Printing Office’s “free electronic access to a wealth of important information products produced by the Federal Government.” All area residents are welcome to use government publications within Shapiro Library. The Education Resource Collection (ERC)
These practical resources for teacher education include K-12 textbooks, teaching kits, manipulatives, children’s literature and books that focus on practical aspects of teaching such as classroom management.  All items in the ERC circulate and may be checked out.  To search the collection, use Advanced Search in the Online Catalog and select Education Resources under Limits.  The collection is housed in its own room that includes seating and a networked computer.  Any ERC questions or suggestions may be sent to Allison Benkwitt, the Library Liaison to the School of Education, at x2156 or Allison Benkwitt

CED Master’s Projects
Arranged in alphabetical order by the author’s last name on shelves in the northwest wall of the Library, these projects are for in library use only. The collection can be searched by using the Advanced Search function in our Online Catalog . Under Search by: select Series Keyword from a pull down menu, then type Community Economic Development project report in the search box.

Audiovisual Material
Instructional videos designed to supplement university classes are located in the Audio Visual Office in the north wing of the libary. Materials can be found by searching the Audio Visual Online Catalog.
