Southern New Hampshire University Hosts Smashing Stereotypes with Quad Rugby Paralympian Mark Zupan
Manchester, N.H. (Oct. 1, 2008) – SNHU’s Office of Disabilities Services is hosting Smashing Stereotypes with Quad Rugby Paralympian Mark Zupan on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the small gymnasium; registration begins at 6 p.m. The event is free to SNHU faculty, staff and students; $5 for registrants without an SNHU ID.
Zupan, a Paralympian of the U.S. quad rugby team, author of the book “GIMP” and a documentary star of the movie "Murderball," will speak about quad rugby, his recent participation in the Paralympics and how he has been able to overcome stereotypes.
A reception and book signing will take place from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the small gymnasium. There will also be a raffle for Fisher Cats tickets, gift certificates to the Hospitality Restaurant, and many other items.
The event is co-sponsored by SNHU School of Education, the Student Government Association, Coordinators of Activities and Programming Events, Inter Greek Council, Young Educators Society, Sports Management Club, the Office of Vice-President of Academic Affairs, School of Community and Economic Development, Service and Citizenship Center, School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPaCE), and the Fisher Cats.
