Office of Diversity Initiatives

Southern New Hampshire University is a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-generational, and multi-gender university. We believe diversity is integral to our university culture. Our campus environment encourages and empowers students to develop priorities, values, critical thinking, and behaviors appropriate to positive, personal, and professional lives. The ideas, cultures, practices and religions brought by each student enhance the entire college experience, from the classroom to residence halls and athletics to campus organizations.

The Office of Diversity Initiatives works with students, faculty and staff from across the university to create a welcoming and supportive campus environment.

Creating Community

The diversity office is also committed to building a supportive community for underrepresented students as expressed through ethnicity, gender/gender identity, race, culture and sexual orientation.

Students are able to:

  • Connect
  • Find resources on and off campus
  • Get support – academic and social
  • Make connections on and off campus
  • Feel at home

''The efforts of this office have made me into a better student and person, one more well-rounded, involved, driven and focused. I feel very much at home''
- Radmary Bernabel, student

''The office has created a place not only for people of color, but for all students to go to. This office provides me with an extension to my son, even though we are hundreds of miles apart, which gives me peace of mind. The Office of Diversity Initiatives is an extension of the classroom, where all students will benefit greatly.''
- Blossom Bridges, parent

Enrichment & Education

The diversity office partners with university offices and programs to empower and promote a respectful and embracing environment for all students. Diversity and culture extend beyond our campus borders into neighboring cities, such as Manchester, Nashua and Boston.

  • ''Precious'' screening and discussion
  • Annual Sunday Soul Food Dinner
  • Trip to hear poet and activist Nikki Giovanni
