A Path to Leadership

If you are a currently certified teacher with at least three years of classroom experience, Southern New Hampshire University's Master of Education in Educational Leadership program can help you become a leader inside and outside of class. Through theoretical and practice-based learning, enhance your skills in curriculum development, student assessment, education technology, collaboration and leadership. The MEd in Educational Leadership degree online is ideal for licensed teachers seeking an additional endorsement. This program does not lead to initial licensure.

Designed for working educators, this master's in Educational Leadership can be completed in as little as 15 months, with two courses per term.

Earn your MEd in Educational Leadership degree online or at our Manchester, N.H., campus and be eligible for New Hampshire Principal Certification or New Hampshire certification as a curriculum administrator or assistant principal.

Admission Requirements

A minimum of three years of teaching experience is required for this principal certification program. A copy of current teacher certification must be submitted to an SNHU admission counselor, and teacher certification must be included on a prospective student's resume.

Admission Requirements

Acceptance decisions are made on a rolling basis throughout the year for our five graduate terms. You can apply at any time and get a decision within days of submitting all required materials. To apply, simply contact an admission counselor, who can help you explore financial options.  Your counselor can also walk you through the application process, which involves completing a graduate application ($40 fee) and providing undergraduate transcripts.

Candidates must also submit an acknowledgement form and professional resume.

Licensure Information

The MEd in Educational Leadership program is approved by the New Hampshire State Department of Education for Teacher Certification as leading to a principal’s license in New Hampshire.  Please note that Southern New Hampshire University cannot guarantee licensure, certification, endorsement, or salary benefits.  View disclosure information.
