"Time is valuable, and it can be productive if I use it properly. And that's how it is with SNHU. It fits into your life."
My number one motivation for going back to school was that I needed to gain expertise in the HR field. It's not enough to be a people person. I wanted to be a subject matter expert in human resources within the business world. It was time to get that extra edge.
But I thought, “How am I going to do it?” Working full time, I didn’t think I’d be able to go back to school and give it my 100 percent. I think also another reason was the fear of failure and self-doubt. What if I do it and I fail? What if I don't finish? What if I'm not good at it? Those excuses were holding me back from taking that plunge.
Once I contacted SNHU, the admission process was so easy. I enrolled in the online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program and chose a concentration in Human Resources Management. I was able to pick my classes, buy my books, start my classes and fit homework into my schedule so easily. I could finally see that earning my degree was something I could achieve — something that I could give my 100 percent.
Now, I’m successfully juggling life, marriage, full-time work and going to school online. One of the most important things I’ve learned at SNHU is how to write and communicate effectively — like a ninja! I’ve also learned to manage my time. Time is valuable, and it can be productive if I use it properly. And that's how it is with SNHU. It fits into your life. It becomes your schedule. It becomes unique to you, and that's what makes it so great.
Going back to school has been a blast. It has been challenging, but I'm a go-getter and a challenge eater. I know that this is just another challenge that I can eat up and become who I really want to be, achieve those goals and be relevant in my world.
I’ve learned that excuses are just distractions. They're just there to test your resolve. No excuse is big enough or as important as that goal that you have set for yourself.
