"I have encountered many great professors and advisors who encouraged me along the way."
I have always been an individual driven to get a college education and enter the working world. But once I graduated high school, I learned my mother had breast cancer, and from there I spent the next four years of my life dealing with her illness. After four years of her battle, she was declared to be cancer free, but by then I felt like I let so much of my life go, that college felt out of reach for me. I decided to push on and get my bachelor's in accounting, but I had always known that I wanted to be an accountant and get a CPA license. I felt like time was my enemy. By then, life happened and I was a mother working a full-time job with no time to go to school to get my master's.
I was searching and found out about SNHU's online courses for forensic accounting, and I felt the hope come back. I enrolled and it has been a great deal of sacrifice to get to the end of this journey. I've had to push beyond fears, life, fatigue and pains to finish my work and do it all over again the next day. It has not been easy working and having a full-life job while taking graduate courses, but it has been rewarding. I have encountered many great professors and advisors who encouraged me along the way, and helped me to see things I wasn't able to. I'm proud to say that I graduate in August 2014 and the future looks so bright to me!
