"The business competencies I obtained...they've been very helpful."
Bethany Girling '06 discovered the university’s 3Year Honors Program in Business Administration by accident.
Beth thought she was attending an information session on the four-year business administration program at Orientation, but instead found herself in a presentation about the 3Year honors program. After that, she was hooked.
"I jumped in from there," she says.
Now an internal auditor with Fidelity Investments, Beth is back at SNHU, working on her master’s degree in organizational leadership.
Earning a bachelor's degree in three years is "an amazing marketing opportunity" and helped her stand out to potential employers, Beth says.
Beth impressed her future boss during a Fidelity career night at the university, an event borne out of a partnership that includes internship opportunities, financial course work and job interview opportunities for students, with the skills she obtained in the program. Now she's using them on the job.
"A lot of the business competencies I obtained in the 3Year program – in the actual job world, they've been very helpful. I have a great grasp of technology ... I have an easier time communicating with other business units ... I'm in a project setting all of the time, so I’m always closely working with other team members," she says. "I was able to jump in after graduation. I couldn’t be happier with the job I have at Fidelity."
